We were lucky enough to be invited to open for Kill Moi at their album release party on August 6. We had a great time, and The Owl Mag got some great photos you can check out.

Last week’s show at the Plough was a blast. The Parties and The Bye Bye Blackbirds played great sets, and the crowd was in excellent spirits. We were all tired the next day, but no there was no rest for the weary….
We spent the weekend hard at work tracking at the studio. We’re really excited about how it’s sounding so far! We haven’t done the singing yet, but almost everything else is recorded for the ten songs that will comprise our first album. Besides the vocals, there’s still a lot of work to do mixing, etc., but we’re going to move as quickly as we can (considering that we all have day jobs).
We may need your help in making the final product a reality, so stay tuned!
This one is going to be a treat. The Starry Plough is an East Bay treasure, and the music will be excellent. Get there early, enjoy some Guinness, grab some fish and chips, and relax.
B and Not B goes on first, at 9pm. We’re playing all the hits, plus a new song! The Bye Bye Blackbirds will then woo you with beautiful three part harmonies and catchy, jangly, sometimes country-inflected pop. And then there’s even more: The Parties will strum their Rickenbackers to take you back to the 60s, even if you weren’t there the first time.
Seriously, this is not one to miss if you can make it. REMEMBER: We’re on first, at 9pm!
UPDATE: Daniel Cowles shot some great photos of us at the show. Thanks, Dan!
Back in November, we played a live acoustic set on Pirate Cat Radio. Since then, DJ Fog has started hosting showcases of bands that have visited his show. That’s what brought us to the Red Devil Lounge last Wednesday night.
It was a fun time, with a wide range of genres represented on the bill, as befits an eclectic pirate radio playlist. Dana Goldberg snapped some more photos of us on stage, for you to enjoy. Now it’s on to the Starry Plough this Thursday, and then the recording studio!
We couldn’t see you too well from the stage, but there sure were lot of you out there at El Rio! Thanks to everyone who came. We had a fun time opening for our friends Mist and Mast. And Dana Goldberg took some kick-ass photos.
We’ve got a couple of shows coming up this month, and then we are doing some recording. We’ll keep you in the loop as things develop. See you again soon!
