Well, we’ve got one if you need one. Our first record is finally available, and we’ve worked hard on it. Come celebrate with us! There will be great people to hang with and some special treats. And you can leave with our CD in your hands. (We’ve got some pretty nice t-shirts, too.)

New tunes to debut
Even as we celebrate this record release, we’re already working on recording some more songs. Look for us to debut 3 or 4 of them at the show. Dusty sings some lead. And Jamie Osborne is back on keys!

Get tickets now! The last show we played at Café du Nord sold out.

The Thingers kick it off at 9pm sharp. B and Not B takes the stage at 10pm. Mist and Mast will go on around 11pm. See you there!

It was a warm, sunny autumn day in San Francisco, and we decided to spend it driving around town in the back of a van full of hot amps. The things we do for rock! Brad Robertson put together this awesome video from footage shot of us playing all around the Mission.

Read responses in Mission Mission, SFist, Stranger Dance, The Bay Bridged, and Deli Magazine.

Dusty sang some middle-of-the-night cover songs at the Econolodge in Ashland, OR. The music swung from Madonna to Zeppelin to VU. The players were sleepy. The neighbors were (hopefully) blissfully ignorant of the concert they were missing.

We’ve escaped the Bay Area, and we’re swimming our way up I-5 toward Eugene. We stopped for some gas in Redding, CA, and played a couple of songs for Nathik at the Chevron-Sunoco. Nice meeting you, Nathik!

tour flyerWe’re heading up north to Cascadia on our first mini-tour. If you live in OR or WA, you should come see us perform. We put on quite a show. If you live a little too far away to come to these shows (i.e. CA, NY, etc.), we need you all to tell your friends in the Pacific Northwest to come see us play! You’ll get to seem like the cool kid who knows about the band before anyone else.

Here are the details for the tour:

Oct 14: Luckey’s in Eugene, OR

Oct 15: The East End in Portland, OR

Oct 17: Common Ground in Burlington, WA (All Ages)

Oct 18: The Comet Tavern in Seattle, WA (EARLY SHOW – 5pm!)

We’ll have stories to tell when all is done, to be sure. You (or your friends) can RSVP on Facebook.

Pirate Cat Radio logoWe had an awesome time at Pirate Cat Radio last night. Boyfriend Search! played a great set, and are truly excellent people. It was great to meet them. Then we had a lot of fun playing some songs before doing a short interview with DJ Barabajagal and Neil Martinson from SMiLE. Tonight at the Knockout is going to be an incredible show!

If you’re curious to hear our interview, here it is:

The sound quality on the radio isn’t the best, but I may also post a few of our performances at some point. Here’s a link to DJ Barabajagal’s whole show, called All Tomorrow’s Parties:

B and Not B at The Knockout, Sep 28, 2009Next Monday, September 28, 2009, we’re playing at The Knockout, one of our favorite neighborhood spots. The show has been curated by the honorable Neil Martinson, as part of his excellent SMiLE! series. The night before, we’ll be live on Pirate Cat Radio at 8pm.

We’re very excited that Dusty DiMercurio will be making his debut on guitar! Dusty’s been singing harmonies with us for almost a year, but this will be the first time he’s strummed a single chord on stage with B and Not B. We’ve also got a couple of new song surprises. There is no end to the fun we will foment on a Monday night. Come join us! RSVP on Facebook.

Cafe du Nord, 20 June 2009We really want to see you at this show. Here’s why you should not miss it:

  • The other bands, My First Earthquake and Blue Rabbit, are amazing performers. MFE will be releasing their new record that night!
  • Cafe du Nord is a great venue, with a glamorous speakeasy past. And beautiful people.
  • David and Karen are getting married earlier that day, and this show is going to be a mad celebration! Bring everyone you know!
  • It’s the first night of Summer (the solstice is at 10:46pm PDT). The longest day of the year is said to be the happiest, statistically speaking. Sounds like a good night to have a party!

My First Earthquake’s performances are exciting and sweaty, and you’ll be dancing if you’re not dumbstruck. Blue Rabbit is a fronted by a trio of harmonizing women, backed by cello, harp, violin, keys, and drums. They put on a great show! B and Not B will kick it all off with a live performance of our upcoming debut album, plus a choice cover or two.

One more thing: you should probably get your tickets in advance! With three great bands, a record release, and a wedding to celebrate, we’re bound to sell this show out. It sucks to show up and be left out because there are no more tickets. (I know — it’s happened to me before at Cafe du Nord!) Just click here and save yourself the worry.
