At the end of my songwriting session on October 26th, I felt like I only had one song. But when I went back and listened later, I realized that I had eight tracks that just needed a little more attention. So I spent another day (November 2nd) cleaning them up and adding more instruments. I’m still in a lyric slump, but I think there are some decent musical ideas in this bunch. Let me know what you think.

This marks my return to writing after an unintentional summer vacation. It’s good to be back.

My session was very short this time, but I finally got back to writing some words. Well, only for the second track, but it’s better than nothing!
The session lasted from 4pm to 8pm. The total running time is 5:06.
No words at all this time. I felt lucky to get anything down, actually. The theme for this session seems to be improvised electric guitar on every track. Better luck next time…
The total running time is 8:12.
A terrible day for writing words, but some decent tunes emerged.
The total running time is 7:21.
I reached an all-time low for productivity this time. Just one real song. The critic raged all day, and I could not shut it down until the last hour and a half, when I spit out “The Benefits Of Friendship.”
The total running time of the tracks is 5:40.
I had a hard day. My throat was too messed up to sing much, I felt kind of sick, and I was in a generally bad mood that froze my creative flow. In the end, I decided to try writing songs named after the planets of our solar system. I only got as far as Venus.
This session lasted from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The total running time of the tracks is 6:27.
I learned how to use MIDI instrument tracks. Now I’ve got simulated drums, B3 organ, and “cello” in the mix. I also learned the ways of the reverb bus, and things have gotten considerably wetter.
This session lasted from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. The total running time of the tracks is 13:12.
