Maybe it’s better to try and believe.
I forcibly separated myself from the MIDI drums for this track. I can imagine replacing the second guitar solo with a French horn.
After spending too much time on the first song, I felt guilty and scolded myself with the words to this one. I don’t think I could ever sing these lyrics again, but I kind of like the feel of the music. And check out the Rogue STR-1 solo.
I spent over 4 hours — more than a third of my session — fussing with this first track. It’s also twice as long as any other song I wrote later that day.
I learned how to use MIDI instrument tracks. Now I’ve got simulated drums, B3 organ, and “cello” in the mix. I also learned the ways of the reverb bus, and things have gotten considerably wetter.
This session lasted from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. The total running time of the tracks is 13:12.
